Sessions:

  1. Silicon Carbide (SiC) Technology – the Whats, Whys and HowsIf you have questions about silicon carbide (SiC) technology, this session will cover why SiC devices are attractive for power electronics, introduce SiC MOSFETs and SiC JFETs, and differentiate their benefits. The operation of JFET cascode will be explained, including its unique benefits compared with conventional SiC MOSFETs, plus the main application areas of these innovative products.
  2. Silicon Carbide (SiC) FET Design Tips for Fast SwitchingSilicon carbide (SiC) FETs have great potential to improve power density, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. However, power loop stray inductance requires special attention to fully exploit the fast-switching capability of SiC FETs. This webinar demonstrates why a simple RC snubber is a superior solution in this challenge. Design tips and guidance on selection of RC snubber value and snubber loss analysis will be included as well.
  3. An Overview of the FET-Jet Calculator for Power DesignsQorvo’s FET-Jet Calculator is valuable early in the design cycle. Near-instant results allow fast evaluation of many topology and UnitedSiC device options. For most topologies, the calculator uses closed-form equations to estimate the power loss of each device in the circuit, drawing from a database of device characteristics to arrive at power semiconductor efficiency and operating temperature estimates. This webinar shows how device data are extracted from online datasheets, how calculations are made and the differences between modulation methods for certain topologies.
  4. Field-Oriented Control for Tri-Phase BLDC/PMSM Motor ApplicationControlling a tri-phase brushless DC (BLDC) / permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using field-oriented control (FOC) is becoming more and more popular given the superior performance in minimizing torque ripple and extending speed operating range. Embedded programing on a microcontroller (MCU) is a common choice to implement FOC-related features and functionality, plus satisfy each individual application requirement while optimizing the overall solution. In this session, we will focus on Qorvo’s unique IPs and field-oriented control algorithms aimed at addressing your unique challenges that require a more sophisticated form of control.
  5. The Qorvo Acoustic Difference: Solving Complex 5G with Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW)New cellular, Wi-Fi, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), non-terrestrial networks (NTN) and other standards increase the demands on an already complicated cellular RF front-end. This, coupled with more handset features and novel industrial design, requires higher performance [lower insertion loss, higher coexistence and out-of-band (OOB rejection)], smaller size and more complex product integration. Qorvo’s latest Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) technologies enable these new features, form-factors and bands while improving the performance of an already complex system. Hear how to optimize your design with BAW.
  6. Qorvo Antenna Solutions Reimagined (QASR) for Dynamic AdaptionTransforming the mechanical structure of mobile devices like foldable phones and introduction of new cellular bands is creating intricate antenna design challenges. Learn how QASR can help develop broadband antennas in a small solution size to enable dynamically adapting antennas and RF architectures in next-generation mobile systems.
  7. Enabling the Future of Secure and Seamless User ExperiencesUltra-Wideband (UWB) micro-location technology has already been adopted in smartphones, cars, consumer and enterprise/industrial applications. UWB’s unique capabilities drive operational efficiencies, enable secure transactions and transform user interfaces. In this session, learn how UWB works, why it’s different from other technologies and how it is being used today across a variety of products, applications and industries. As UWB capabilities expand, presenters will also look into the future and potential new use cases.
  8. How Wi-Fi 7 and New Matter Protocol Will Impact the Smart HomeWi-Fi has been the ubiquitous connectivity technology in the home for many years but continues to advance significantly. Learn how its next generation, Wi-Fi 7, will improve the home-user experience and how the Matter standard will bridge interoperability challenges to create a seamless home network.
  9. Using Flexible Architecture to Meet DOCSIS 4.0 Higher Upstream RequirementsDOCSIS 4.0 is pushing the upstream into the realm of what was considered the downstream spectrum. By providing four new splits in DOCSIS 4.0, the spectrum range can be from 5MHz all the way to 684MHz—a challenge when designing amplifiers for upstream applications. This session focuses on the upstream architecture inside amplifiers, and how Qorvo products can provide a flexible network architecture to meet multiple system operators’ (MSOs) needs for DOCSIS 4.0.
  10. X-band Radar Application with Integration GuidanceThis defense and aerospace-themed session provides a description of a typical transmit/receive function in radar applications through an illustrative X-band block diagram. Featured products will include limiters, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), digital step attenuators (DSAs), phase shifters, switches, mixers, drivers and power amplifiers. While highlighting integration as an increasing need in the industry, multi-die front-end modules and wideband high power SSPAs will be covered as well.
  11. The Future of Mobile Infrastructure & Open-RANThe mobile infrastructure landscape is evolving toward the next generational leap, 6G. This session will give a peek into the 6G promise and provide a primer on the current disruptive trend in radio technology, which is ORAN. An overview of the market, use cases, competitive landscape and growth projections will be presented along with how Qorvo is well positioned to intersect these opportunities.
